With the recent (8-2-2012) innovations of Echo Bazaar, FBG introduced a whole bunch of new Pets, each connected with one of the factions of Fallen London, that provide a bonus to one of the new Qualities (Respectable, Dreaded, Bizarre). They are obtained playing a gold-bordered Opportunity Card (mine was named "Valuable secrets", but there are others) that opens up a one-shot storylet in Watchmaker's Hill that provides the pet, a small reward, a smal reduction in Connected - the relevant faction, and a new Story Quality. As far as I know, a player can have only one such pet at a time. These are the pets - and relevant Qualities - I know of:

Hell: Preening Macaw - +1 Bizarre - The Gates of the Garden "There is a reason that Death shuns the Neath. What is it?"
Revolutionaries: Partisan Messenger Tortoise - +1 Respectable - The Eyes of Icarus "Icarus returning / longs for the deep places."
